Record Jewish visits and open prayer on the Temple Mount at Sukkot
StatusHappened
Futurist interpreters read Jesus' words that Jerusalem would be "trodden down of the Gentiles, until the times of the Gentiles be fulfilled" () with the Temple Mount in mind, since it stayed under Muslim administration after 1967. Open Jewish prayer there during a major festival, reported by several outlets, is for them a notable continuation of the change first logged in early 2026.
Happened. The Times of Israel reported on 27 September 2026 that "roughly 1,000" Jews visited on the first intermediate day of Sukkot, some "praying openly", with no arrests reported by the advocacy group Beyadenu. Israel National News (1 October 2026) reported 8,690 visitors over the intermediate days, "a new record"; Ben Gvir said: "today, we are the masters of the Temple Mount!" The Christian Science Monitor (14 October 2026) wrote that limits on Jewish prayer have "effectively dissolved", while Netanyahu "insists there has been no change to the status quo". The visit figures come from advocacy or partisan sources and are unverified; the open prayer is reported by all three.

This is a political change in how the site is run, driven by Israeli politicians and advocates, so it is brought about by people and cannot count as an independent sign. The government says the status quo is unchanged, Jordanian and other critics quoted by the Monitor object to the change, and no formal transfer of the site's administration has been found. Preterist interpreters read as fulfilled in what began in 70 CE.
