A practice burning of a red heifer
StatusHappened
For Christians who expect a rebuilt Temple, a rehearsal of the red heifer rite shows how far the preparations have come. The Law describes the heifer being burned and its ashes kept "for a water of separation" (), and the people involved have now practised the rite with a view to performing it for real on the Mount of Olives. Prophecy teachers watch such steps as signs that a Temple is moving from hope toward practice.
Happened (as a practice). Religion News Service reported (reprinted 14 July 2025) a "practice run of an ancient purification ceremony involving a red heifer", "held on a remote hilltop in northern Israel" at 6 p.m. on 1 July 2025. The heifer was driven from Shiloh, Boneh Israel "oversaw the practice ritual", and a photo caption describes it as preparation "for an official one on the Mount of Olives". Other reports say the heifer had been disqualified by non-red hairs, and that the Temple Institute and the Sanhedrin clarified it was not a qualified red heifer.

This was a rehearsal with an animal not regarded as qualified, not the rite itself. Like the other preparations, it was carried out by people acting on the texts, so it cannot count as independent fulfilment. Christians who read the Temple prophecies as fulfilled in the first century see no prophetic significance in it.
